Flynne grew up in the Blue Ridge Mountains with her mom and brother. They grew up poor but happy enough. Flynne found ways to make a living, although her best friend, Billy Ann Baker, always reminds Flynne that she could be making more doing virtual reality gaming like her brother. Flynne loves to play games and often played as her brother's avatar, Easy Ice.

Flynne had a crush on Tommy Constantine but they never got together.

Season 1[]

In Season One, Flynne takes care of her mom who has gone blind- getting her her medicine, food, and whatever she needs. She lives with her mom and with her brother in a trailer next door. Flynne works at a local shop and lives a simple life, not making much money. Her brother asks her to play as his VR avatar, Easy Ice, often. Flynne agrees as long as he sends her some of the money he makes so she can help out more around the house.

Flynne agrees to try out a brand new VR set, sent for free from Colombia to Burton. She puts it on and it feels real- as if it's her actual body. A woman, Aelita West, tells Flynne (as Easy Ice) exactly what to do to get paid. She has her kill a woman, Mariel Raphael, and put Mariel's eye in the avatar's eye socket. In this simulation, Flynne feels the pain as if it were real.

Eventually, Flynne finds out this VR game she has been playing isn't really a game. Wilf Netherton alerts Flynne that she is in danger because she has been acting in reality- not in a game simulation- and that some people are after her. Flynne doesn't believe anything at first but eventually Wilf shows her that the simulation is real and that she is living in the past. He takes her to London in the year 2100 to show her what the future really looks like. Wilf asks Flynne for help- to find Aelita, who is the only one who can help them save the world. Flynne doesn't immediately agree but once Wilf helps her mother get her eye sight back she agrees.

Flynne and Wilf start looking for clues into Aelita's disappearance. Eventually, they conclude that Aelita may have downloaded some secret information into Flynne and this may be the key to finding her.

Flynne gets questioned by Detective Ainsley Lowbeer about some misaligned timelines. Flynne learns that in another timeline, she married Tommy and had two kids with him. She answers most of Ainsley's questions. Eventually, Ainsley proposes working with Flynne.

Meanwhile, Flynne and Wilf continue to search for Aelita and for answers. Wilf apologizes for using Flynne. The two talk to Aelita’s younger self but Ash is watching them all so they’re cautious. Adult Aelita shows up to tell them the Klept killed their families because of a contagion in the camps. Over five million people were murdered. The Klept suppressed everyone’s memories to avoid retaliation. Aelita is with a group of people who support her and her mission. The answers to their questions lie in Flynne’s head.

At the end of season 1, Flynne partners with Conner to make a proposal to Lowbeer- help them create a new stub. Flynne thinks that if she's gone from her world- Cherise won't know where to find her. She asks for Conner's help. Conner shoots her and she presumably dies in her world- but wakes up in another with Ainsley who asks her if she's ready to get to work.

Personality[]

Flynne is a nice, down to earth girl, who is very caring and loving- with her mom in particular. Flynne isn't shy but she does get shy around her crush, Tommy.
